International Children's Day!

Every year, The Montessori Elementary School puts on a parade for International Children's day.  The students all study a country from around the world and then present a project to their classrooms.  Both boys did great! This year, Edward chose South Africa and Nolen chose Egypt.

Yesterday was International Children's Day at the school.  The boys got to choose a country to study, then they presented their countries at the school parade.

Nolen chose to study Madagascar and Edward chose Egypt.  

Both countries have a lot of wildlife, which is why they chose their respective countries.

 Today, we celebrated International Children's Day at The Montessori Elementary School!  This was Nolen's first year doing the research project.  He studied Australia.  He drew a cute small poster board about Australia and dressed up as a safari guide. Nolen's class celebrated by singing and signing six different songs!

Edward has now done three research projects for International Children's Day.  This year he chose to study Angola.  In the years past he has done Denmark and Madagascar.  Angola was very similar to Madagascar.  Edward made a huge poster and gave a great speech about what he learned.  I just love that TMES does this research project yearly.  Edward has really grown since Kindergarten.  It took him about two weeks to finish the project but he did most of it on his own this year!  YAY! 

My parents have not ever seen the parade that the school puts on and they had a fun time cheering for the kids as they walked by.
