Kingman, Arizona and Dallas, Texas

I can't even remember the last time I went to Kingman and visited my family.  My parents moved to Albuquerque in 2019 and I didn't have a lot of motivation to drive to Kingman over the last five years. I have been sometime in there but I really can't remember.  Either way, I had decided to go to Kingman before my mom died.  I was going to take photos of all my friends and make some money to pay for the rest of my Hawaii trip.  I also had Sharla set up some photos of her kids that take riding lessons at her ranch.  Friday, my dad and I work up early and hit the road so that we could get into town before sunset.  I had planned a lot of family photos for the weekend and needed to get there to have enough time to fit them all in.  I took photos of Veronica's family on Friday then we went to dinner with Jared and Faith at the Dam bar.

Saturday, I woke up early to take Nikki's family photos near the golf course.  It was gorgeous!  I have been training for a 10 mile trail run so I had to get myself push myself to run 8 miles up Hualapi mountain road that morning.  I stayed with Amanda at her house it was just delightful.  After my run, I showered and headed over to Sharla's house to take photos of her lesson kids and ride.  We went to lunch with her and John then I was off to take photos of two more family's!

Saturday night, Jared and Faith hosted a dinner at their house so we had some food and fun.  Then I went to Sharla and John's house and fell asleep.  I had another family Sunday morning before my dad and I drove back to Albuquerque.  It was a whirlwind of a weekend and I am so glad we went.  We got stuck in the snow on the way home but all in all had a fun time seeing our old friends and family.

This same exact weekend, Edward was invited to go to an airsoft game in Dallas, Texas with my friend Andrea Landaker and her daughter Sapphire.  He had so much fun!  It was a really long drive and he was gone Thursday to Monday but he said it went too quickly.  He is looking forward to the next airsoft game out of state!

A weekend in Kingman

It has been a while since I have been to Kingman.  Both boys were in school last year and that changed my vacation schedule quite a bit.  I haven't been able to just pick up and leave when ever I want.  I also started teaching piano more seriously this past year.  Add in my second year of photography at JMB Image and I have been swamped.  After our yearly Skousen family vacation, I let the boys go to my parents house for a week.  Stephen and I spent a few days, just the two of us, seeing movies, going to the spa, and relaxing.  I drove to Kingman, all alone, on Thursday to pick them up.  I spent a wonderful weekend with my parents and my friends.  The weekend included a hike, lots of food, and a water balloon fight.  My parents are seriously, THE COOLEST!
I miss them already.
