Swim Team!

 I love summer! I live for summer!  Summer is my favorite! 

This year, the boys are doing the swim team at the gym near our house.  Early mornings and fun Saturdays are spent at the pool! Even though this means I have to get the boys up early every day, it gets them out of the house and moving their bodies.

Swim meet and my Birthday

 Summer for me is all about swim team.  I love waking up early and swimming.  Although, this year I have only swam once.  I usually swim with the boys but this summer I have been training for a marathon so that has taken up a lot of my time.  The boys are doing great at swim team but what I love most is the team aspect.  We have been a part of this team since Nolen was three and Edward was five.  My boys have grown up on this team. Covid changed a lot of things for us, but sticking to the team we love has made our summer so great!  

 

I didn't do anything special on my birthday.  I went on a bike ride with Mary Rogers and then played games on my ipad all day.  Boring but I needed the rest.  

Roadtrip with the Best!

 I had such a wonderful time road tripping with my best friend, Chelsea Anderson.

 

I am so relieved that she is cancer free and on the road to recovery.  When she called back in February to say that she might have cancer, my heart dropped.  I love her with my whole heart.  I went to a swim meet early Saturday morning, then jumped on a flight to Minneapolis, Minnesota.  Chelsea picked me up and we went right to her house in Austin.  Her house is gorgeous.  I loved the architecture and that she lived right in the forest with a creek in her back yard!  Just lovely!

 We had such a wonderful week together.  On the drive, we stopped at our friends house, Michael MacName.  He hasn't changed a bit.  So funny and so full of life.  His wife was the most gracious host.  She let us sleep in her bed, made us dinner and breakfast, and bought us some amazing toiletries.  It was such a fun stop.  

When we got to Albuquerque, we went on some nice hikes, saw a snake, went out to eat at Los Poblanos farm, and shot 9 holes of golf.  Just doesn't get any better than that.  I love these summer days.

Summer, please stay a little while longer.
