Frist Day of School

 AND a new car! Edward gets to drive in 17 days.  I am so excited for him.  He will have some sweet freedom for the first time in his life.  He will also be able to help out a bit more and feel some real responsibility.  Today, is also the first day of school!  Nolen is in 8th grade and is still home schooling.  Edward is in 10th grade and attending Albuquerque Aviation Academy (SAMS) the same school he has been attending for the last two years.  I hope they have an amazing school year!

Nolen also got the bottom braces put on his teeth so he will have a beautiful smile next year!

Freshman Photo!!

 I finally got Edward's freshman school photo!  It was taken back in August and the photographer finally sent the photo to me.  I spent months pestering them about the photo.  I am unsure what took so long, but I finally got the photo!  Edward looks amazing!

First Day of School

 And just like that, summer is over.  Don't mind Edward's non smile.  He is actually happy that school has started.  He loves his school.  That is a HUGE plus for us here at the Barnes home. 

Edward is a Freshman in High school this year.  I just can't believe I have a child in high school.  He will start seminary next week.  Am I really that old?  Nah!

Nolen is starting seventh grade and has chosen to home school for another year.  This is the start of my fifth year of home schooling.  What?! I honestly can not believe this much time has gone by.  It is INSANE how fast time fly's when you're having fun raising your kids.

The First Day of School!

 That's right world, it's the first day of school for us!

We took three full months off from school.  We needed a huge break.  We were burnt out and tired of struggling through math.  So, I am trying online math for my kids.  Maybe they can learn easily from an online tutor.  We are still doing The Good and the Beautiful language arts curriculum.  

Nolen is starting 5th grade and Edward is starting 7th grade.  

Here's to an amazing year at home.

Last Day of School

We ended our school year with a bang.  

School doesn't get out until Friday, but we are not going back.  Usually, the last week of school is filled with fun activities.  This year, the school did virtually nothing cool.  Our annual family vacation starts on Friday, so we decided to end our school year early.  Edward got in huge trouble on Wednesday at school just for saying the word, "bang"!  I was so furious.  The school kept him after for 30 minutes telling him he did something wrong when he was just reading a comic book.  We were so annoyed.  Anyhow, needless today, the last day of school was not great.  Our cousins came today, so we are back to happy days!  No more school until August!

Oh, I finally got their class photos.  What a frustrating year of school for both kids.  I might just home school next year.
