Happy 4th Birthday, Pearl!

 How has it been four years?  Pearl is so loved by our family.  She is such a wonderful dog.  She isn't perfect, but she is nearly perfect.  She loves our entire family and tolerates everyone else.  She is sweet, kind, calm, and always up for a good run.  I have been taking her running with me on Friday's for the last few months.  We adore her.  I know my life wouldn't be the same without her.  The boys absolutely could not live with out her. 

  

I tried my hand at making cookies and getting them frosted for my recital but it was a complete flop. I messed up something and I am not entirely sure what.  But these cookies were gross.  I voted and forced the boys to play a fun game together. 

 

Happy Birthday, Pearl!

Happy 2nd birthday to our sweet puppy, Pearl.  I am so grateful we have this cute dog in our lives.  She is fun for all the piano kids and the boys love to play with her each day.  She is really a good dog and slightly temperamental. Her birthday was December 1, 2021!

This week, we got Edward a drum set.  He has been taking lessons for the last few months and I was hesitant to purchase a drum kit, but I'm glad I did. 

For mutual we made gingerbread houses.  Edward made a gingerbread tank, of course, and Nolen made a little cottage covered in sugar!

State Track Meet and a Swim Meet

 Well summer is off and in full swing.  We had our final track meet and our first swim meet on the exact same day.  Edward didn't want to throw in the last track meet and Nolen wanted to try to do both, swim and run, but the timing just didn't work out.  

Stephen took Edward to the swim meet and I took Nolen to the track meet.  It was a hot summer day for both boys.  Nolen ran his fastest times and Edward got a few first place ribbons.  

We have been having a great time helping grandma and grandpa work on their house.  So many projects that never seem to end.  The boys have also loved taking Pearl on walks.  She has been a little injured the last few weeks so she hasn't been running with us.  She has needed rest. 

Pearl is officially 6 months old!

Just the Beginning

  I am unsure how time can just slip away sometimes.  I really try my best to keep up with this blog but, lately, I have not been making it a priority.  I don't have much of an excuse.  Just that life has been unnecessarily full with things to do.  We have mostly just been busy with the puppy and running.  Nothing better if you ask us.

Track with the dog has been an adventure.  She is getting better but some days she is wild and tries to herd the kids.  It is hilarious. 

Nolen has loved playing with Albuquerque Youth Symphony Orchestra this year.  He has become a much better musician because of his weekly rehearsals. 

Life with Pearl

 It has been a huge adjustment to have a puppy in our home.  The boys are absolutely loving her.  She is attached to Nolen.  She sleeps with him and he loves it.  Nolen has been taking her out every single morning and night making sure she is getting potty trained.  So far we have had a lot of accidents but that is to be expected.  She is so smart!  She already knows how to sit, wait, and fetch.  

We love her.
