Sometimes, I wash their Hair

 I have found that kids are just not that great at washing their own hair.  Now I see why I had so much dandruff as a kid.  I could never really get all the shampoo out of my hair, let alone get a good wash done on my own.  Well, occasionally, I will still wash their hair and blow dry it.  I know those days are coming to an end and I am trying to soak them up as much as possible.  Realizing that I only have 6 years until Edward leaves the house is VERY hard to take.  

 

Making Bread

 I absolutely love the "Good and the Beautiful" home school curriculum.  It is filled with positive messages and has so many fun and meaningful assignments.  Most of the time, it is not just busy work.  It is all about real life use for Language Arts and Science.  

Edward's 6th grade book had him make his own homemade bread for school today.  It was so fun and easy.  

Sledding the Sandia's

 A few weeks ago, the boys got to go sledding with their friends up in the Sandia's.  I was busy working that day and didn't get to go.  I told the boys that once it snowed again, we would head up to the mountain and sled together.  Well it snowed. 

There was a ton of mud at the bottom of the hill, so it made for a muddy landing.  We had so much fun. Both my parents came up and my dad even went down the hill with the boys.  I went down and managed to avoid the mud; however, most kids were not so lucky!

The Aaronic Priesthood

 

Last year, the church changed its policy on moving girls and boys up from primary to the Young Men and Young Women's program.  This means that anyone turning 12 that year will move up January 1st rather than on their birthday.  This meant that Edward could receive the priesthood at the beginning of the year.  After finding out that his two friends were getting the priesthood January 3, 2021, I contacted the bishop to make sure Edward could receive the priesthood before church on January 10th, so he could pass the sacrament with his friends.  

I invited Stephen's parents to come and be a part of the ceremony.  We bought Edward a new suit and headed to the church at 8:00 AM so he could receive the priesthood then pass the sacrament that day.  It was a special morning as Stephen decided to come and be a part of the circle as my dad gave Edward the Aaronic priesthood.  

Edward absolutely loved passing the sacrament and has take that duty seriously.  He has something to look forward to as we head off to church each Sunday.  Even though church is only 40 minutes long, it is somewhere we can go and feel the spirit.    

2021 Is Here!

 I am so glad that 2021 is finally here!!  

I am so glad we have a new president that is about to be put in place at the end of this month.  I am ready for some peace in America.  I am ready for some big changes to happen this year.  I am ready for people to stop losing their minds over EVERY single thing the media puts out.  It is ALL click bate as far as I am concerned.  

I am looking forward to all the trips we have planned this year.  I want the world to return to normal.  That is what most people want to happen now.
