A visit from Jared and Sharla

My mom has Leukemia.  She has been in the hospital for a while now.  She goes in and out of the hospital all the time.  We are worried.  She has said that she feels like this might be the end of her life.  I am so devostated.  I would love for her to live another 20 years but I also do not want her to be in pain for the remainder of her life.  Because she has been so sick, my siblings have made a special effort to visit her.  Jared and Faith drove with Logan to spend the weekend with Mom.

Sharla and John came the next weekend and spent some time with Mom.  Although, the circumstances aren't great, it is nice to have my siblings come and visit if even for a short while.

Forced Family Fun

This year, I really want to spend more time with my family.  I have been trying to figure out how to fit it in and I came up with FFF; forced family fun! No one is excited about it, but I know they will look back on FFF and appreciate that I forced them to get together and do something fun each week.

I haven't been great at taking photos each time we did something, but we have been doing something each week. We got ramen, ate ice cream, and played games together.  Edward had an archery tournament and I got one photo.  Why have I given up on taking pictures?  I am not sure.  I need to get back in the habit of taking a photo even if I only ever plan to share it on my blog.

I have been working on organizing Stephen's office.  It has been a huge undertaking but completely worth it.  Craig, Blair, Stephen, and I all went bowling and Craig creamed us!  He is so good at so many things!

Happy New Year!

 Happy New Year!

We had a pretty low key New Year celebration.  Stephen worked and came home just before midnight and Edward went to his first youth dance at the church.  Nolen and I went with Craig and Blair and let off fireworks then came home and waited for midnight.

This year, I am hoping to be more present with my children.  I have planned to sing in an opera, "Le Comte Ory" with opera southwest and coach Cougar Track Club, but that is really it.

I know the boys are happy as clams to do nothing for as long as possible.  Edward had been doing archery and loving it.  I am not sure if I have any real goals except to love more and be more present.
