Thanksgiving and a Turkey Trot

Thanksgiving is always one of my favorite holidays.  I love that we have the tradition of running a turkey trot every year as a family.  It was really cold and we convinced Craig and Blair to join us.  Thanksgiving was a delicious meal with family.  Stephen had to work that afternoon so we ate in the early and played games.

The Season of Running

It is truly the season of running for us right now.  Edward is doing Archery this season but I haven't been able to get a photo of him shooting yet.  Nolen and I drove up to Colorado this weekend to run at regional's.  It was freezing.  The night before we drove up to Colorado, it snowed about a foot on the race course.  Not great news, but we still had a great time running and hanging out with the Iverson's for two days.  The boys 11-12 team qualified for Nationals and they are excited!

Twelve years ago, my sweet Nolen entered this beautiful world.  He is twelve today.  I love him.  Nolen loves robox and playing computer games so much so that he asked for a gaming computer for his birthday.  Same as Edward.  Nolen is an accomplished runner.  He just ran a 6:50 minute mile at the Cougar Cross Country time trial.  He is incredible.  He has worked so hard to get faster.  He prays daily to run faster.  He is caring, kind, and loves his dog, Pearl.  He takes such good care of her every day.  Nolen is still pretty picky about food but he is trying to get better as he realizes that food helps us grow taller.  Nolen is kind and compassionate.  I love him.

He had a birthday party on Saturday with his two best friends, Elijah and Dylan.  They had a blast at Urban air jumping and playing games together all night long.  I am so grateful he has some good friends in his life.

One Fast Mile

Since I completed the marathon, I have been on easy street.  But not Nolen!  He has been pushing himself far beyond what he thought was capable.  He ran a 6:50 mile at our time trial!!!  Which earned him his 7 pin for running under 7 minutes.  Incredible!
