TWA crash site hike

Andrea Landaker and I have been hiking buddies for the last 16+ years. She is so adventurous and she is up for any hike! We hiked back in December and then planned to meet up again to hike the full 8 mile hike to the TWA crash site. It was so beautiful and snowy. I slipped on the way back down and bruised my elbow but other than that’s, it was a nearly perfect day. The sky was blue and the temperature was in the high 40’s and low 50’s. It was a fun relaxing day.

Boring but good

This month has been extremely boring but just what I needed after a crazy few months. I needed a good break. I rearranged my piano schedule and that has helped make my life less chaotic. I now will only teach Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. This gives me four days in a row off. This has been much more relaxing. Ah!

Amanda and Logan came for a visit a few weeks ago. We hung out and went shopping. Edward and Logan have changed so their friendship has moved apart a bit. They have grown into different boys which is good for both of them.

I wish I had more to say about January, but I don’t. It has been quiet with very little excitement. I think this was just what we needed.

New year new me?

No. Not really. This year started out with a very hard Saturday. I went to my dad’s house and cleaned out my mom’s closet and bathroom. I cried as I drove to goodwill to drop everything off. I have been trying to help my dad get his life affairs in order. We created a trust, paid off all of his debts, and took care of some of my mom’s stuff. It hasn’t been easy. Actually, this is one of the hardest things I’ve had to do in a long time.

I returned home to find that my sprinklers have been broken for months and I had to spend Monday trying to fix them. And lastly, I tried dressing better this week. Here’s a look at my attempt.

New Year 2025

 Happy New Year!

Today, we went to Craig and Blair’s for our annual polar plunge to start the new year off freezing cold! Nolen put his feet in, Stephen and Craig dove in, and Blair, Edward, and I all walked in and walked right out.

I haven’t quite settled on my goals for this year but I was able to complete my goals from last year. I attended the temple at least once a month and sometimes I went twice. I read my scriptures every day and did the wordle every morning. I ran a trail race and two races with Craig and Blair. It was a good year despite the sadness of losing my mother in September.
This year, I’m hoping to continue reading my scriptures daily, attend the temple when I can, and hike the Grand Canyon.
