Last Day of School

We ended our school year with a bang.
School doesn't get out until Friday, but we are not going back.  Usually, the last week of school is filled with fun activities.  This year, the school did virtually nothing cool.  Our annual family vacation starts on Friday, so we decided to end our school year early.  Edward got in huge trouble on Wednesday at school just for saying the word, "bang"!  I was so furious.  The school kept him after for 30 minutes telling him he did something wrong when he was just reading a comic book.  We were so annoyed.  Anyhow, needless today, the last day of school was not great.  Our cousins came today, so we are back to happy days!  No more school until August!

Oh, I finally got their class photos.  What a frustrating year of school for both kids.  I might just home school next year.

Cracked!

I always try to stay positive in my life.
Always.
I will say this year has challenging in new ways. I have been on such a big journey to learn and grow and change.  AND wouldn't you know it, I keep getting knocked down.  I guess, such is life, right?
Anyhow, I have had three injuries this year.  I hurt my knee during the half ironman, I have a reoccurring stress fracture on my left ankle, and now I pulled a calf muscle.  UGH!
I have gained 10 pounds since the half ironman.  It is so disheartening to be on the side lines.  I'll just roll with the punches.
Last week, my college room mate wrote on facebook that she was leaving the church.  I was so curious.  I have had so many questions about how the church actually operates that have not been answered.  I asked her why she left and she sent me to read the CES Letter.
WOW!
There were all the questions I have asked and more.  It literally cracked my brain in half.  I have wanted answer to some of those questions and have not been given a real and honest answer.  Come to find out, no one has been given an answer.  These questions have plagued Mormons for years.  I was glad to see that I was not the only one.
It really is a touchy subject, religion.  It is not something that can be easily brushed off or talked about.  Why don't science and religion mix?  Why are they both so far off from each other.  I have been watching this Netflix's video "One Strange Rock" starting Will Smith.  It is so interesting how science does not go hand in hand with religion AT ALL!
I just want to go to sleep and forget every thing.  So many people chose to walk with blinders on in life.  I just can't do that.  If I have the opportunity to learn and grow, I will take it.  I was surprised to learn many of my close friends and family don't want to ask certain questions at all because they don't want to know the answers.  Isn't that the point in life?  ASK!  How can we SEEK if we haven't asked the questions?  OR are we only allowed to ask certain questions?  I am guessing that is what "they" really mean by saying "Ask and ye shall receive"
Here I am, ASKING and I am not receiving.  Here I am KNOCKING and the door is locked tight!
WHY?
I digress.
Here are some of the happenings over the last few weeks.
Dad and I finished the back yard.
Edward went to camp oro quay.
I spoke in front of the school board to stand up for all the teachers who have been fired at TMES.
Nolen loves running track.
School is almost over.
Edward found 20 tadpoles in the river.
Edward earns money mowing the grass for Grandpa.
I had to WALK at track.  Ugh.
Stephen still doesn't smile for photos.

2019 Family Photo Moments!

This year, I wanted to do something totally different from what we have done in the past.  Stephen and the boys were sort of tired of getting dressed up and leaving the house for photos.  I also wanted to do something to remember our house and create memories of where the boys grew up.
I love our house so much.
I also love my sweet boys.
I found the best way to capture everything I wanted in a family photo session.
We made cookies, we tickled each other, we jump on the trampoline, we had a picnic and we played on the swings.  It was pure magic. I will treasure these photos forever.
Thanks to Jessica Sego Photography for capturing these moments for us!!
