Thankful Thanksgiving

We had a pretty low key Thanksgiving this year.  We woke up early and went to our annual turkey trot that we missed for two years.  We ran our hearts out.  Edward rode is bike around because the bike race was not an organized event.

After the race, we made some turkey and ate with my parents.  Nice easy day.

Orchestra with AYSP

Yesterday, Nolen had his first orchestra concert with Albuquerque Youth Symphony Orchestra.  He plays with the fourth and fifth graders.  So far, he is loving it.  He said he hasn't made any friends yet, but he is working on it.

For the first time in my entire life, I have a television in my bedroom.  I'm 40! Our new house is just too echoey for us to watch TV in the living room.

Mandatory Family Fun!

It isn't easy being a mom.  It just hard sometimes.  I feel like I try and fail every single day.  But I dust myself off and get back up after a lot of the set backs.  So, the last half of 2021 I have been focusing on being a more attentive mom.  This has led to Mandatory Family Fun!

We have been playing family games every Saturday night to bring us back together as a family.  So far it has been fun.

After owning a snake for three and a half years, I decided to snap another picture of the giant corn snake growing in the boys room!  Slithers or Mars, which ever name they choose to call it that day, has grown a lot over the years.  He is truly the easiest pet to own.

Nolen had his pinewood derby this month.  He won every single race but some how came in second place.  HA!  I will never understand how the races work, but he had fun.

As per usual, we have been running our lives away. Nolen has been getting faster and faster as the season progresses.  We decided to join the team and run at  Nationals this year. That has meant a lot more practices and a lot more work, but Nolen is loving it!

New Mexico State Champions!
Edward has been going to art class for years and this semester he has been working on a coyote drawing.  It is incredible!  The detail is hard to capture from my phone, but in person this drawing jumps off the page.

Eleven

It's the eleventh month and my sweet boy is eleven.

Nolen spent his birthday with his two best friends, Dylan and Elijah.  He invited them to his favorite place, Urban air.  He wanted to spend all night there.  So we did.  Seven hours of pure fun.  Edward invited his friend Titus, so that they could all enjoy some fun with their friends.

Stephen took Nolen shooting on his actual birthday.  He had a blast.  He was excited to open his $100 dollar gift card to Roblox.  That was ONE of the things he wanted.  He also wanted a puppy.  I tried so hard to find him a puppy.  It wasn't an easy task.  Puppy prices have gone up astronomically!  I may keep looking for a puppy but who knows if I will find the right dog for the right price.
