Track Season

It's track season!  I would say it is amazing, but it is just normal fun.  Cross Country Season is so much more fun.  But that is my opinion and it accounts for nothing.  Nolen LOVES track.  Well, and so does Edward.  They are both having more fun running and throwing this season.  I am so glad we are having a normal track season after two years of no track because of covid-19.

We have had our first meet today.  Both boys have been working hard at practices so that they could perform at the meets.  Nolen is running sprints, which he loves, and Edward is throwing javelin and shot put.

The Simple things in Life

I am trying to appreciate the small things in life.  Time ticks away quickly while I am busy raising my boys.  They have been home schooled now for three years. THREE YEARS!  How did that much time go by?  What have I done with that time?  Have they learned anything?

I have been working on some small projects here at the house including the garden, hanging photos, planting indoor plants, and of course, taking care of the dog.  It has nearly been a year since we moved in and we still need to unpack boxes!

Easter

There is nothing like racing home from an amazing vacation to prepare for an all singing Easter program at church.  This year, I was asked to put together a choir and some musical numbers for Easter.  It was a lot of work but very fun.  I am so glad my parents live nearby so that my boys can hunt Easter eggs at their house.  My dad loves hiding the eggs and the boys love finding them.

Vegas 2022

It's Vegas time!  We literally wait all year for this week.  We have saved and saved and saved just to spend it all in one week of fun with friends. This year we really lived large.  We stayed one day longer than usual and we did a lot of shows and adventures this year.

We arrived Sunday and had dinner with all the siblings at Fogo de Chow.  It was pretty good food.  Mostly, everyone loved it.  It was an all meat dinner which is not normally my favorite but still delicious.  After dinner, we all headed over to watch Penn and Teller.  They were hilarious!  It was so fun to watch the show with really good seats.  I am so glad we go to see them before they retire.

Sunday night we stayed in "regular rooms"! HA!  They were great but not as great as the double pent house suite.  We slept like logs that night and I am so glad because we had a long Monday filled with plans.

Monday morning we woke up early and went to the gym then off to the spa.  I had another so-so massage.  I keep saying every year that I no longer want the expensive massages because they are not worth the price.  Stephen loved his massage so maybe it is just me.  After a great morning at the massage, we headed back to our old rooms and packed up so we could check into our penthouse suite.   After running around like crazy people, we got our new rooms and then got ready to eat at Mr. Chows.  So delicious.  I would definitely go back.

Tuesday we hit the gym early then went to Dream Car racing.  Wow!  It was a cold windy day.  We got there at our normal time but then one of the drivers wrecked the car so we had to wait an hour for the car to be towed off the track.  Then the Dream Car racing team forgot about us.  So we stood in the wind and the cold waiting for our turn to drive the cars. Once the boys got to drive, it was actually really fun.  It was thrilling to just ride in the car.  Kendra and I did a ride along and it was a blast!  Afterward, we went shopping and ate at In and Out burger which was the cheapest food we ate all week.

Wednesday, we had a fun night eating at Nobu and then we watched Absinthe.  It was a crude cirqdesolil show.  It was very fun to watch but the MCEE'S were very crude.  I am so glad we had an opportunity to see the show.  Nobu was another expensive meal but tastey.  I am not sure I would ever go back as the price didn't reflect the food.

Thursday we spent the day at the pool.  We got the most expensive cabana that had a private hot tub.  That was really cool.  For the first time in years, we actually got in the pool AND I got a sunburn!  WHAT?! It has been so cold in the past that we didn't get in the water.  After the Cabana, we went to STK for dinner and then watched Lady Gaga.  Wow!  What a great show and I would eat at STK again if asked.

Friday, we hit the jackpot on some last minute gambling then headed home.  It it always fun so spend a week with my siblings.  I just love them so much.  This week is always a fun week.  Until next time, Vegas.
