Summer ins and outs

Oh the randomness of summer is my favorite.  Who even knows what we do or why we do it, but we do it.  I sang with the Gay Mans Chorus and the Zia sings for a huge compilation.  It was so fun! Edward went to summer camp with his friend Titus.  I don't have a single picture of that adventure; however, Edward said he had a blast!

Swim Team!

I love summer! I live for summer!  Summer is my favorite!

This year, the boys are doing the swim team at the gym near our house.  Early mornings and fun Saturdays are spent at the pool! Even though this means I have to get the boys up early every day, it gets them out of the house and moving their bodies.

Track Season ends and a hike

I have a love hate relationship with Track season. I love running and I especially love running with Nolen; however, track season is not my favorite season to run.  By the time June hits, I am ready to spend my days at the pool.  Nolen had a great State track meet and beat all of his times for the season.  He ran hard all season long.  He was ready for track season to end, just as much as I was ready for summer to begin.

Edward and Nolen have been relaxing every day after swim team.  Edward decided to build a cardboard tank with his friends then have a nerf gun war outside his friends home.  We also went on a hike with all the kids from mutual.  Nolen has also been practicing a song for Trek with a large group of boys.  It sounds so cool!

Family Vacation 2023

This year, we had to make some changes to our plans for our annual family vacation.  My mom has been battling cancer for the last five months and it just didn't seem feasible to travel to Costa Rica with out her.  We all decided to gather together for Memorial Day here in Albuquerque.  Craig, Blair, and I planned some activities and all the meals.  We worked hard to make sure everyone had somewhere to stay and picked up chairs and tables from the church so we could eat together at my house.

It was a little chaotic but it was fun.  I am so glad that we work hard to get everyone together year after year despite the challenges we have faced as a family.  All of us are changing and growing and I know it is a sacrifice for families to travel and take time off work.  I am so glad that they did.  I think, moving forward, I will plan on just spending a long weekend with my family.  No more week trips because we are not in a place where we can get along for more than three days! HA!  Either way, we had a good time, played games, ate meals together, and I forced everyone to take a photo with my mom.
