A day out

Just a few pictures to show we actually did do a few things in August, including buying a new (used) car to drive up to the top of the mountain. Happy September, friends!

Just thinking out loud

I really can't believe that Edward is a year and a half. I really can't believe that in a little over two months we will have another precious young boy in our family. I really can't believe I am 29. Sometimes (OK all the time) I ask, "Where did the time go?" However, I know precisely where it has gone.
I give my days and occasional nights to my precious son, Edward and my amazing husband, Stephen. I continually try to come up with new places to go with new things to learn. I devote some of my time to missing my family and friends. I try to find new delicious recipes to try each week. I pray with Edward daily. I play with Edward. I look at facebook. I read. I watch some Disney movies. I feed Edward. Actually, I spend a lot more time feeding Edward than playing with him. I am a wife and mother. I write in my journal. I sing. I sleep.
I can see I have a lot of time that is devoted to silly things and a lot more time devoted to just being a Mom. Sometimes I think that my youth is passing me by then I remember the moments I am spending with my family will be the most cherished moments of my life. I listened to a woman bare her testimony today in church. She talked about how she always wanted to be a performer and sing, then her life changed and it didn't take the course she had intended. She didn't seem at all sad about he decision to be a wife and mother. I thought about how I keep trying to find my inner performer and that I get to perform for Edward each and every day, night, and moment.
I can not be sad and should not be disappointed because I am not singing and dancing on Broadway. I am fulfilling another purpose. I am a Mom. If I do "nothing" with my talent, that is OK. I am finally in a place that I feel very happy. Stephen also informed me that we are most likely staying in Albuquerque for "eternity". I admit, I am devastated. I will miss my family and friends back in Arizona; however, maybe now is the time in my life to make new friends and branch out a little. Albuquerque can't be that bad, can it?

Music School

Today was Edwards first day of his first ever "college course" put on by the University of New Mexico. The University has classes available to children of all ages every Saturday in almost every instrument you can imagine. Edwards class is just a basic music course but seems to offer a lot of fun (not to mention a place to go on Saturday's while Stephen works).

Edward is on day 3 with out the bottle. I have noticed some behavioral changes that are slightly disagreeable; however, this is what I expected. Since the bottle is no longer readily available he has been drinking less milk. I think I may give up...

Anxiety- distress or uneasiness of mind caused by fear of danger or misfortune.
I hate feeling anxious. Every time I lay down to take a little nap I have to ward off these feelings of Anxiety. I have nothing "really" to even feel anxious about.

1 1/2

18 months.
18 months have passed since the birth of my precious son, Edward. I really can not believe how much he has changed in the last year and a half. He is so grown up now.
1) Edward can say a handful of words but not too clearly.
2) He can feed himself!
3) He has a wild imagination when playing with cars.
4) He is finally starting to be a little more cuddly.
5) He has yet to ever murmur the word "Mom" but he sure loves saying "Daddy".
6) Speaking of Dad, He loves Stephen. He cries when he leaves each morning and runs up to him as soon as he walks through the door.
7) Edward is around 26 pounds and about 33 inches tall. We will find out for sure at the doctor on Monday.
8) He has a charming personality and will talk to any stranger.
9) He lights up my life.
10) He is amazing.
Edward is on his first day with out the bottle. It is nearly 3:30 PM and he hasn't needed one yet.

6 Months and growing

Things are moving right along with Baby Barnes #2. I really can not believe how fast time is slipping by. We are starting our 6 month! BB #2 will be here before I know it. I guess I need to start really preparing. I wonder if I have everything I need....

Just a good Quote

‎"Up to a point a man's life is shaped by environment, heredity, and movements and changes in the world about him; then there comes a time when it lies within his grasp to shape the clay of his life into the sort of thing he wishes to be. Only the weak blame parents, their race, their times, lack of good fortune, or the quirks of fate. Everyone has is within his power to say, this I am today, that I shall be tomorrow. The wish, however, must be implemented by deeds." Louis L'Amour; The Walking Drum
