SWEM BIRT - South Carolina

 I thought I had this great idea to stay at the beach in Hilton Head, South Carolina.  Bad idea.  It was a lot farther drive from Savannah than I thought and my throat was hurting so bad.  I was ready to get to the hotel to go to sleep and the drive seemed to last forever.  We had hoped to rent bikes and ride along the beach so I asked a few locals if we could ride on the sand and they said yes!  So we rented bikes and road down to the beach only to see that it was extremely crowded and impossible to ride on the sand.  So we ended up riding along a path along the road.  It was beautiful and HOT!  After the bike ride we grabbed an expensive lunch and headed to Congaree National Park.  

 Congaree National park was fun and filled with bugs.  We did a hike through the swamp and then headed to North Carolina for the night.  

 

SWEM BIRTH- Georgia

 We had such a lovely time at the beach in Florida.  The night before we left, I went to bed early to try to get over my cold.  Everyone else stayed up and went down to the beach to hunt for shells.  When they came back up the door was forgotten to be locked which should have been no problem except SOMEONE CAME IN!  Around midnight, I was awoken by who I thought was Melanie opening our bedroom door and turning on the light to our room.  We woke up in the morning and Hattie told us that she talked to a woman who came into our condo!!  She said the lady was looking for her friend and went from room to room looking for her friend.  She must have been dunk.  Nolen heard us talking about the woman when he came and told us that a a woman came into his room and handed him his phone!  WHAT!?  It was crazy.  

After all that excitement, we drove to Savannah, Georgia to do a ghost tour!!  I was so excited for this ghost tour.  The guide had a lisp and it was really hard to understand her when she told half the ghost stories.  We stopped at a cool older house and it was supposedly haunted.  We tried to take pictures to capture ghosts on film but no such luck.  After the ghost tour we walked through the city and then drove to Hilton Head for the night.  

 

SWEM BIRT - Alabama-Mississippi-Florida

 This was a beautiful driving day that we spent stopping at he USS Alabama and the beach in Mississippi.  We drove to the army base in Florida and climbed up a light house and saw the flight museum. Edward especially loved each of these stops.  

We arrived in Panama City Beach toward the evening and it was impressive!  Melanie reserved us a gorgeous condo right on the beach.  The sand was perfectly white and the ocean was warm.  All the boys immediately jumped in the ocean to swim.   

  The next morning I woke up with a terrible sore throat.  We had planned a mini scuba diving day and I wasn't sure I was going to be able to do it.  I tried to get some meds but this was a resurgence of the cold I had in Alaska.  I could just feel it!
