October is Balloon Fiesta time in Albuquerque. It is beautiful. I love it! Thursday I went to my adult kickball league game and celebrated Spencer's birthday! It was such a beautiful night. The sun sets are gorgeous and I always love being outside to witness them.
Stephen has never been to the morning Balloon Fiesta and I figured this was the right time to take him. We didn't have to wake up too early to attend because we used Nolen's Jiu Jitsu pass to park close to the park. We arrived just around 7:00 and walked in as the Balloons were all taking off. We brought my Dad and wondered the field until about 8:00 and then went to get donuts. It was a perfect morning.
Sunday, I headed to church with Nolen and then we just relaxed the rest of the day. Monday, we headed up to the Santa Fe Ski area to hike Aspen Vista Trail. Again, it was the perfect day to catch the fall colors in the mountains. We took a different trail than most of the other hikers, which ended up being great because we had the dog with us. I absolutely love being outside and in nature. It fill my soul. I feel closer to God when I am out amongst the trees. Both boys were pretty good sports and didn't complain too much. We stopped for burgers in Santa Fe before heading home. The place we ate at was SUPER slow!! AND that was really annoying. But fine. Stephen flew home early Tuesday morning and headed straight into work. I miss him already.
