Monday was the big day! We had planned a big snorkeling trip to Molokini Crater. I snorkeled at Molokini the summer of 2000 after my freshman year at college. I had dreamed of going to Maui since my parents talked about their trips to the islands years ago. Our boat, The Pride of Maui, left at 8 AM so we had to get to the boat launch at 7:30 AM. We took the boat out to the crater and snorkeled then ate lunch and then we headed to turtle town. Turtle town was just off the beach we had been the evening prior! So that really was where the turtles hung out! Nolen and Stephen swam with a turtle, but I didn't see him. The waves were huge closer to the shore so we didn't stay too long at turtle town.
My mom has been on the boat to snorkel MANY times but she never got off the boat. For the first time in her life, she got off the boat!! She had a blast!! Nolen had the time of his life. He said that snorkeling was his absolute favorite part of the trip. Edward swallowed a lot of sea water, so he didn't like snorkeling as much as the rest of us. Stephen seemed to be having fun looking at all the underwater sea life.
After landing back to shore, we went back to the condo and took another nap! I think I slept more on this vacation than any other vacation in my life! We wanted to spot the turtles sleeping on the beach, so after lunch and our naps, we went on a turtle hunt. We found a secluded beach in Maluaka. It was a lucky find. It was completely secluded and empty. The waves were fun and the sand was soft. It was steps from where we parked to the sand. Best of all, it was empty! Of course, no turtles.
Of course, after the beach, we went straight home and fell right to sleep!
